When TV was fun, without crap….i watched….
Since Transformers turn out to be a major success in the movies, i decided to reminisce on more old cartoons,or TV shows to be made "BIG"!
well, people who grew up around the same time frame will know these cartoons, so bare with me yeah, if ure too young to remember.
by the way, i received some feedback that the link for the transformer sounds have some probs, so ive rectified it.=).
back to main story/topic.
my time or zaman was between 1990 (i was 6) till 2001 (heyy…form 5 tu!)
well, ill start with the names of the cartoons, and how i remember them….
- SpeedRacer! Yes.the other cool car show! SpeedRacer…Go Speedracer! Cool car.Dumb helmet.
- McGyver !- The ultimate genius a.k.a my idol, cuz he can make bombs from play doh, and knock a dude off with AA batteries.practically!introduces the term : pisau mcgyver.
- KnightRider! Not because Hasslehoff, its because of the car.Best intro ever.
- A-Team! - makes riding in a van look cool, and MR T is the sifu of bling bling. I bet he was 50 cents’ idol last time.
- Go Go Power Rangers! yeah! it rocked when there were only 5 on them,Rita Repulsa, Goldar, dat clay army bla bla bla. some dumb robot going Ai-ya-yai-ya-yai…! -variations also, Maskman, Flashman etc. Forgot how the "revised" transformation hand signals by Flashman tho.ahaha. another thing was some huge cannon they call "Meriam Katak"…(wat d FUCK?) , or something sounding similar to that….huge robots, and there was this HUGE.HUGE red truck.Japanese really know how to make heroes. Yatta!
- Thundercats! Cheetara lari laju…tertanggal baju …! (bet every single boy in Malaysia sung that line at least once.) Lion-o, Panther-o, Tiger-a, Cheetah-ra….(talk abt creativity in naming them….) but best of all…MUMMRAAA! Cool logo, but a thing dat seems uneasy when i think back of that cartoon is that the thundercats, male ones tend to show their stomach a lot / bellybutton area. its like watching a Britney Spears video, but replacing her with buffed up dudes.aiiya.
- Kesatria baja Hitam : a.k.a Kamen Rider Black! got 2 bikes. uses "Penumbuk….paaduu…maaaoooot….! " and "Sepakan….paaadduuu….maaaoooot…!" to whack off enemies.but normally knocks them over with his bikes. The pinnacle of every Mat Rempits dream to start.(if you count back the Mat Rempits average age, minus say…12-13 years, dats arnd the time this show was hot! make yr own connections.aha.).Special mention to his "bertukar" dance.
- Space Sheriff…Gaban! (or smtg similar sound to that). Rides a bike with a sidecar.so not cool.but owns a friggin giant red dragon robot.and rides on it by standing on its head.Space-su Polis-u Gaban!
- Airwolf! Major show that tells us that: Helis are cool, and prompted us to call any cool looking heli as "likopter-airwolf"…! ridiculous when thinking abt it again, but hey…a heli faster than a jet always rocks.
- Otoraman! Ultraman! yesss! Hakutoo…Minami…! Bertukar….! ive always liked the ultraman Ace series.notice his head was always kinda too big for the body.ahaha. the newer ultramans are kinda lame i think. trying too hard.they shd stick to the old ones recipe. monster, ultraman come, ultraman kill!
- Reboot! - this one cool cartoon which i believe among the earliest CGI shows. cool concept, and yeah.original.
- Cybercop.who would ve known, pushing the right buttons on phonebooths can bring you bags filled with guns? cool planet names in all, Mars, Saturn, mercury and Jupiter. and d bad dude was Lucifer.how apt. among the coolest toys ever brought in, and hard to get too!
- Biker Mice From Mars.Now this is a cool cartoon.Bikers, Harleys, Mars! Giant rodents! nice intro movie also.Saturdays never miss show.
- Voltron - the king of giant robots-which-are-made-from several-smaller -robots!
- Cyber Rider ! and the Star Sheriff! woo-chiu-chiu…! i dont know why, but the theme song sort of haunts me till now…..! luv the suits.even loved giant robot with a cowboy hat!
guess thats all i can think of….if i missed some, sorry, my bad.
but yeah, please do remind some more…=)
