dont look back…at all!
Oasis’ song says it loud and clear…
Dont Look Back in Anger. Well, yeah. delete that anger part. it says it clear, i believe so to.
But it comes to this; we Malaysians, we look back at past achievements with nostalgia, too much for our own good; often so, at deceased people’s feat.and bench mark on their achievements; 5, 15, even 25 years after it’s being done….
Example: After witnessing our oh so beloved national footie team got the crap beaten out of them by China, 5-1 (score more like a Hockey game huh…?), i did not have a tinge of surprise in me. Hmmm…
well, since some quarters berapi saying "this is the time for us to redeem our pride" in international football, and prove that we’re worthy participants, not just as hosts… etc..bla bla bla…getting so-overly optimistic, i kept my cool and sanity by following the golden rule of Malaysian sports.
They perform when you dont care abt them. and vice versa. Look at Hafiz Hashim. No one gave a rat’s ass abt him then in All England, and he went on to win it. The moment people start "following" his progress, he falls like a fly on Shieldtox.
so the moment you taruk harapan, thats when they screw up. Normal la. We Malaysian wat. remember? even Nicol Ann David screwed up once when the whole Nation was banking on her. but that’s another story.
too much to point out to for similar example, so i hope u get the pic.
so when the team lost, the blaming game starts.weird thing tho, only in Malaysia that the loss was NEVER the coach’s fault.
Always the players, tactics, the field, the stadium, the fans, the weather, the (this is rich ) opponent being too strong, the water boy, the ballboy, the team bus driver, the mascot, the wrong boot selection (and you call them Professional footballers…?!) ; but NEVER, the coach’s fault.
never have i witnessed (or have i been sleeping all while) a Malaysian National coach admitting his fault, mistakes in tactics, selection of players or even style of play after a defeat. or should i call it.WHITEWASH.better still, BLEACHING.
read:Malaysia totally got BLEACHED by CHINA!
Normal response: we look forward, we put this behind, and learn from it. none of those done, and to prove me right, i tell you, we’re gonna get Klorox-ed again come Saturday.
well, how does this relate to the "nostalgia-looking-back-to-past-achievements" thinggy? easy. Notice after every Klorox-ed performance, TV3 will go with….(these exact words) "…zaman kegemilangan pasukan bolasepak kebangsaan…" , "kelibat Mokhtar Dahari…."…bla bla bla…..
come on MAN! MOVE ON! yes, Mokhtar Dahari was one of a kind, and yes, we were once big.but not anymore! i cant believe that certain quarters are still harping of our achievements in qualifying for the Olympics , where we decided to pull out of one, cuz wanna boycott Russia.
But why, why benchmark on stuff eons ago? everything will suck if you compare with stuff 15 years ago! look at d film /music industry. same case. Seniman Agung P Ramlee.yep. appreciating masterpieces is one thing. living in the past is another. and we do the latter.
well, im ready to move on, but sad, some people’s mentality is still "Di takuk lama"……(wat d fuck is ‘takuk’ anyway? ) - sounds like smtg frm an old movie….."sekali aku takuk…!"
ever notice how mostly people who drive d big cars, import cars are d real fuckers on the road? seriously. they cut lines, hantam emergency lane, then try to squeeze into the main lane, bullying some poor Kancil driver to give way, cuz dnt wanna dent a Merc, or Beemer and get into unnecessary hal.
how come cops are somewhat more lenient to them anyway? saman la. they can afford it what.
Notice how all cars parked near the Mid Valley komuter station, along the road, which covers a huge part of the road, which naturally lead to the Mid V jam?dont tell me no one never perasan, and Polis dont saman them for illegal parking…?!!!
COME ON!
in relation to an old post, of the being green wise/fashion wise at the same time. remember that "I AM NOT A PLASTIC BAG" bag limited edition going for RM 55.00 which was sold out 1 hour after on sale in KLCC….?
well, "miss whoever bought em bags", tell me this, do you know anything abt global warming? aha. think abt it.
fashion conscious, or environmental conscious, whatever. again i repeat, Global Warming is inevitable, and its just another unavoidable phenomenon, and weasels are reaping from it.
makes me wonder, where do you bring those bags to anyway? to yr local pasar malam?
id be darned if some Ah soh struts on buying pork meat in pasar Suntex lugging around with a bag which says "im Not a Plastic bag".aha.
im told the bags are made of cloth. try making them with cow hide.leather. helps a bit in curbing cow farts.aha.
anyways to those who missed out in getting them, Petaling Street.nuff said.ahaha.
people wont be able to tell the diff.or just wont bother.
Hairy Potty movie out.kiddies lining up to catch the movie and all, and then in the cinema, u’ll get over-laughing (no kidding, it does exist) kids, know all brats ("no, Myrtle should be sitting on a "p" pipe toilet cubicle, not an "S" pipe cubicle"….sort of conversation) and clueless boffins ("eh why uh dat fellow like that…? why she so bad…? oh me…? yeah, i saw all the movies, but i forgot la what happen" type of viewer.)
if you get flying popcorn coming your way, that’s from me, you friggin dickwad.
lastly, i finally found a way to spell that "R" correctly in Toys "Я" Us. Heyy…backwards R! cool eh!
